This is a basic tutorial on how to activate and optimize your Google+ Local Listings which also is called Google Places, Google Maps, Google local business,ect. This free listing for your business, when done properly can be the different in new customers finding you or finding your competition.
To start you need a Gmail or some sort of Google acct.(see below)
1. Start go to this URL http://www.google.com/localbusinesscenter.
Sign in with your existing Google account (gmail acct) or, if you don’t have an existing one, then click on the Sign up now link at top right-hand side of page.
2. Add locations. If your business has more than one location then add it too. (you must have a physical mailing address as verification will be sent to each locations mailing address, NO PO BOXS)
After you sign up or in you’ll be given an opportunity to Add new business or if you have several locations you can click on Upload a data file.
Click Add if you have a only one location for your business or Upload if you have multiple locations. Google will provide you with instructions for creating this file, if you need it.
